We have three classes in school in the mornings and two in the afternoons. In the mornings, we have Acorns, who are Nursery, Reception and Year One; Saplings, who are Year Two and Year Three; and Oaks, who are Year Four, Year Five and Year Six. In the mornings, children are taught spellings, phonics, reading, writing and maths in these slightly smaller classes, and then in the afternoons Year Two join Acorns Class and Year Three join Oaks Class for all of the other subjects we teach in school. We teach a broad and balanced curriculum, using a themed approach and we ensure that our curriculum is accessible to all children, through differentiating approaches and through quality first teaching.
Because of our mixed age classes, we have a four-year curriculum cycle in KS2 and a three-year cycle in EYFS and KS1. Below you can click on the links to see an overview of this year's curriculum for your child's year group.
If you'd like to find out more about our curriculum, and what your child will be learning, please contact school or speak to a teacher at the gate, and they will be happy to give you more details or to make an appointment with you.
