Remote Education

During the Covid 19 Pandemic, schools had to close to keep everyone safe, as part of wider national lock down. At St Michael's, we know how important it is for the children's education and mental well-being to be able to continue with their school work and to keep in touch with their friends. During periods of full lock down and school closure, we have remained open to the children of key workers and to those children who may be more vulnerable, while at the same time, providing remote education to those children who are at home. If and when required, our remote education will be done through the app, Class Dojo, where teachers post videos of teaching input and activities for children to complete.

If home leqrning is required, we also offer live Zoom sessions in phonics and for children with Special Educational Needs, as well as for whole class weekly catch-up and social sessions.

During periods of lock down, we also provide packs of resources and regular reading book swaps. For children eligible for free school meals, we provide vouchers to cover the cost of this.
