Welcome to St Michael's CE Primary School!

I am extremely proud to welcome you to our school website and hope that you find it useful and that it gives you an insight into our wonderful school and what it means to be part of our fantastic community. We are a small rural school, located not far from the edge of the Lake District National Park and with stunning views across the Solway. We have fantastic facilities with lots of space both indoors and out and we aim to ensure our wonderful outdoor space and the landscape on our doorstep are an integral part of our curriculum. Being a small school, we thrive on the happy, family and community feel we have nurtured and we hope you feel the same way when you visit!

We are a Voluntary Aided Church of England School and we base all that we do on our school vision and the Christian values that we have chosen as a school community.  Our main values are Friendship, Perseverance, Respect, Love, Courage and Generosity and these underpin all that we do in school.

We have high expectations of ourselves and of the children, and we always strive for the very best in all that we do, helping the children to develop a strong growth-mindset and to believe that absolutely nothing is out of their reach. We have strong links with our local churches in Torpenhow and Fletchertown and we work closely with the whole village community in Bothel, aiming to teach our children about the importance of community and being responsible citizens who take care of their world and each other, both locally and globally.

If you would like to come and visit us, please contact the school office and ask to speak to me or to Mrs Robinson, our school administrator. We would be very happy to welcome you and are sure that you will love our school too!

We hope to see you soon,

Mrs Polly Page
