PE and Sports Premium
Sport, physical activity and in particular, being outdoors is an important part of life at St Michael's. We use a combination of our own extensive and varied outdoor areas, the local environment of lakes, rivers, coast and fells, and local secondary schools and sports venues to enrich the physical activity provided for our pupils. We also invest in CPD for staff, create opportunities for competition (both internal and external) and buy appropriate resources and equipment so PE, Sport and outdoor physical activity can enjoyed and accessed by all. We recognise the importance of physical activity and the outdoor environment on mental well-being too and ensure opportunities are built in to develop this allowing both children and staff to flourish.
What is the Sports Premium Funding?
Sports Premium funding is money allocated to school to improve the health, well being and academic achievement of children through sports and physical activities. At St Michael's, we aim to deliver high quality Physical Education teaching and a wide and varied range of sports and outdoor physical activities for all children.
